About OMC Hospitality · Family-run since the 1980s

A family kitchen, four decades on.

Chairwoman Micha Oh · 오미자 회장

It started with one woman and a charcoal grill.

Micha Oh came to the Bay Area from Korea in the 1980s, when Korean groceries were hard to find and Korean BBQ was almost unknown here. In 1989 she opened Koryo Sootbool in Oakland and grilled over real charcoal — one student, one neighbor, one regular at a time.

In 2005 her table became Ohgane. Since then the family has opened restaurant after restaurant: Korean BBQ, Korean comfort food, jjamppong, donkatsu, a seafood boil house and more — each with its own name, all run by the same family and the same kitchen standards.

Today OMC Hospitality builds, opens and runs every one of those restaurants itself, and caters for museums, companies and families across the Bay Area.
